GEAUGA COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS
Position: Court IT Coordinator
Status: Exempt, Unclassified
Reports to: Information Technology Director
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Occasional overtime or work beyond normal hours may be required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the IT Director, the Court IT Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of technology initiatives across the Court and assists with end user support. The position emphasizes project management, organization, technology planning, documentation, and cross-department communication.
The Court IT Coordinator works collaboratively with Judges, the Clerk of Courts, end users, and IT staff to ensure effective operation of Court systems, applications, and technology projects. Responsibilities include vendor coordination, technology assessments, training, documentation, and assisting with the rollout of new systems and process improvements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assists in planning, organizing, and coordinating Court technology projects, including scheduling, tracking milestones, documenting progress, and ensuring timely completion.
- Facilitates communication between end users, IT staff, leadership, and vendors to identify needs, outline requirements, and support the implementation of solutions.
- Develops, maintains, and updates technical and procedural documentation.
- Participates in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technology solutions and improvements to existing systems.
- Supports the administration and operation of mission-critical Court applications, including testing, user acceptance, rollout planning, and process development.
- Coordinates courtroom technology operations, including planning, scheduling, and ensuring systems meet case management and operational requirements.
- Organizes and maintains technology inventories, licensing records, and asset documentation.
- Provides user training, onboarding support, and guidance on Court applications and technology processes.
- Contributes to departmental planning efforts.
- Monitors technology trends relevant to Court operations and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Attends and participates in meetings, workgroups, and professional development activities.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Meets all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Director.
- The position requires occasional travel for job duties and training.
- The position requires some overtime and weekend hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a combination of education and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Minimum of one year of relevant experience in an IT, project coordination, or technology administrative role. Experience with CourtView/CMS, Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation environments, Microsoft 365, and SQL Server preferred. Prior experience in a court or public‑sector IT environment is a plus.
Must pass a criminal background check, driving record check, and pre-employment drug test. Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license.
